VCE ATAR calculator 2026
Estimate your ATAR from your VCE study scores using 2025 scaling data. Change a score to see how it affects the result.
Estimated ATAR 78.80. Aggregate 133.60.
Your subjects
Scores below 20 are not covered by the published scaling table. Scored VCE VET studies and higher-education studies are not included. This assumes you qualify for the VCE and all scores are from the same year.
Your English subject and next three eligible subjects count in full. Up to two more count at 10%.

How the estimate works
A scaled score is your study score after VTAC adjusts it to account for competition in that subject. Your aggregate adds your English score and best three other scaled scores in full, plus 10% of up to two more.
Choose your subjects and enter whole study scores from 20 to 50. The calculator uses 2025 scaled scores at 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50, joining the published points with straight lines.
Your highest scaled English-group score counts in full, followed by three other permissible scores. Up to two more scores contribute 10% each. No more than two studies from one grouping count in the primary four, and no more than three count overall. Equivalent studies, including English and EAL or versions of the same language, cannot both count.
The aggregate is rounded to two decimal places and looked up in the complete 2025 Aggregate to ATAR table. The result uses published ATAR bands in steps of 0.05. Aggregates below 65.93 show “Below 30”; the highest band is 99.95. Scaled scores display to one decimal place and contributions to two.
What it can’t predict
2026 scaling will depend on the performance of students taking each subject that year. A study score describes relative performance in a subject, so it cannot be read directly from a SAC (school-assessed coursework task) percentage. School assessment moderation also happens before study scores are calculated.
This tool assumes VCE eligibility and uses one year of scaling for every input. Studies completed in earlier years retain their own year’s scaling in the real calculation. VET, higher-education increments, interstate credit and special eligibility arrangements are outside this calculator.
Common questions
2025 is the latest published scaling. 2026 scaled results are released on 10 December 2026. The tool uses the published figures available now.
Yes. Your highest scaled score from English, EAL, Literature or English Language must be included. English and EAL are equivalent, so only one can contribute.
Yes, but only two can count in full in your primary four. A third may contribute 10%. A fourth cannot contribute to the aggregate.
An uncounted score may still be outside the six permissible contributions. A counted score can also change without moving the aggregate into a different ATAR band.
Enter a study score, not a SAC or exam percentage. SAC moderation, assessment weightings and your performance relative to other students determine your study score.
